What do you get when you cross one of London’s most illustrious auction houses with the finest produce from a jewel of a British stately home? A meal fit for a Queen, of course. Sotheby’s is joining forces with Chatsworth, seat of the Duke of Devonshire, on the launch of a fabulous menu to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, available in the auctioneer’s Bond Street Restaurant.
Working with ingredients like Chatsworth estate-reared lamb and fresh fruit and vegetables from the estate’s bucolic gardens, Head Chef Myles Fensom has dreamed up exquisite, farm-to-table dishes befitting a royal celebration.
Plus there’ll be a newly-created Chatsworth gin cocktail on offer, and a tempting selection of Chatsworth Estate cheese from the Hartington Creamery – originally established by the 8th Duke of Devonshire in the 1870s. And with a host of historic works on display at Sotheby’s as part of its Jubilee Season (including the chance to see the portrait by artist Oluwole Omofemi commissioned for Tatler’s July cover, in the Power & Image: Royal Portraiture & Iconography exhibition), Sotheby’s is the perfect place to head to for a Jubilee-themed day out.
